Get the most out of your stand mixer with Kitchenaid stand mixer attachments.
The expense of a KitchenAid stand mixer doesn’t necessarily end at purchasing
the mixer itself. For those who so
choose, there are a variety of attachments that can be used with the KitchenAid
stand mixer in order to get as much use out of your investment as possible.
Depending on what you intend to use your new KitchenAid stand mixer for
you may want to buy one or more of these handy attachments.
You may have noticed the knob-like device protruding from the head of the mixer. This is where the accessories are attached. One of the KitchenAid stand mixer attachments is the food grinder. This comes with two different plates, one for fine and one for coarse grinding. This attachment enables you to buy cheaper cuts of meat and grind them up for your use, such as for hamburgers. The KitchenAid sausage stuffer kit is used with the food grinder and comes with two different funnels one 3/8” and one 5/8” funnel. This allows you to make your own sausage.
If you want to try your hand at making your own pasta you can do that with the pasta plates and the food grinder. With the pasta plates you can make thin or thick spaghetti, flat noodles, macaroni, and lasagna. Or you may wish to purchase the adjustable rollers which would allow you to make fettuccine or linguine fine. You can even purchase the pasta cutter companion set that allows you to make angel hair pasta and noodles. Last of the pasta line is the ravioli maker. This makes 1-5/8” ravioli pockets, 3 pockets in a row, 5-3/4” wide sheet feeding area. This does not require the use of the motor as it advance by hand. A filling school and cleaning brush is included with the KitchenAid Ravioli Maker.Attachments also include the rotor slicer and shredder. This comes with four cones for fine or coarse shredding and thick or thin slicing. This is handy for shredding blocks of cheese. The KitchenAid fruit/vegetable strainer and food grinder allows you to grind fruits and vegetables or even use the strainer parts to make jams, purees, sauces, and even baby foods. You may also wish to make your own juice with the KitchenAid Citrus Juicer. This will juice citrus fruits while also straining the pulp.
The KitchenAid grain mill grinds non-oily, low-moisture grains. These grains include wheat, corn, rye, oats, rice, buckwheat, barley, and millet. You can use this attachment to grind from extra coarse to very fine. An attachment that has been discontinued by KitchenAid but that you may still be able to find and purchase is the KitchenAid can opener that leaves can edges smooth and free of snags. One of the last and most fun attachments for the KitchenAid stand mixer is the ice cream maker. This comes with a 2 quart freeze bowl, drive assembly, and dasher and bowl adapter ring.
